John Grainger UCC Development Sigerson Preview
It’s a big week for GAA in the university as various teams reach the concluding stages of their competitions.
However, pride of place must go to our Ashbourne Cup team who won the premier trophy in Third Level Camogie for the first time since 2003 by beating UCD in the final last Sunday. A win that puts us on the roll of honour for the 32nd time.
Proud moment for our joint captains , Meabh Ring and Avril Cashman as well as manager Michelle Gould and coaches Ken Bulman , Dave Ellis, John Brosnan and Mark Kavanagh.
What is unique is that out of a panel of 27, 10 are students in the Physical Education , Sports Studies & Arts BEd degree course. Someone is doing something right!!
Our Sigerson Cup senior football team take on UL this coming Wednesday 11th in Croke Park at 7.30pm throw in time. Manager Paul O’Keeffe and coaches Billy Morgan and Luke Connolly will hope to bring the Sigerson back to college for the 25th time.
We should be proud, win or lose of these exceptional young people who represent us so well.
The Sigerson Final is live on TG4.
