Mary Robinson gives keynote address at UCC's Sustainable Futures Forum
Former President of Ireland Ms Mary Robinson called for greater action on climate justice among the world's leaders and governments at UCC's Sustainable Futures Forum. This event at UCC’s Glucksman Gallery, was MCed by RTÉ presenter Miriam O’Callaghan and was hosted on the eve of UCC's partipation in the annual United National Climate Change Conference COP-28 which is taking place this year in Dubai.
This event was organised by Dr Marguerite Nyhan, Senior Lecturer (Associate Professor) in Environmental Engineering & Future Sustainability, as part of the Sustainable Futures Project. This is a nationally coordinated sustainability and climate education initiative funded by Ireland’s Higher Education Authority.
This conference convened national and international experts in academia, industry, climate activism and international development to examine some of the key challenges facing Ireland as it seeks to meet ambitious targets set out in its Climate Action Plan.
