Ambassador of France Visits UCC
President John O’Halloran welcomed the Ambassador of France, H.E. Mr Vincent Guérend, and a delegation from the Embassy of France, to UCC on Monday, 8 May 2023.
H.E. Mr Vincent Guérend was appointed French Ambassador to Ireland on 23 September 2020. His previous postings focused on European Affairs and Asia.
The delegation first met with representatives from UCC’s Department of French before visiting the President’s Office where Ambassador Guérend signed the Visitor’s Book and was presented with a gift. Jean van Sinderen-Law, Associate Vice-President and Director of European Relations and Public Affairs at UCC, was also present for the meeting.
A wealth of cooperation exists between UCC and French universities. In the area of research, France is number one for joint publications with UCC.
UCC looks forward to further strengthening relations with its nearest EU neighbour.
