Professor Bertram Bitsch Delivers Invited Talk at International Conference on Exoplanets and Planet Formation, Shanghai
Professor Bertram Bitsch from the School of Physics at University College Cork recently participated in the International Conference on Exoplanets and Planet Formation, held from 8–12 December 2025 at the Tsung-Dao Lee Institute (TDLI), Shanghai Jiao Tong University, China.
The conference brought together leading researchers from around the world to exchange the latest scientific results in exoplanet detection, protoplanetary disc evolution, planet formation theory, and related astrophysical topics. Topics included new insights into planetary populations, dynamics, and the physical processes shaping planetary systems.
Professor Bitsch was invited to deliver a talk highlighting his latest research contributions, sharing his expertise on planet formation mechanisms and their observational signatures in exoplanet populations. His presentation was well received and stimulated engaging discussions with international colleagues.
Talk Title: "Where do giant planets form?"
