PhD Student Wins Best Presentation Award at UK Nitride Consortium Meeting
Physics PhD student Aisling Power has been awarded the Best Student Oral Presentation Award at the UK Nitride Consortium (UKNC) meeting, held in Swansea on 7–8 January 2026. The annual meeting brings together leading researchers working on nitride semiconductors from across the UK and Ireland.
Aisling is a theoretical physics PhD student whose research focuses on boron-containing III-nitrides, with particular interest in their electronic, optical, and carrier transport properties for next-generation optoelectronic devices. She is supervised by Dr Stefan Schulz.
The award recognises the quality and impact of Aisling’s research and presentation, and highlights the strength of ongoing research in nitride materials within the School of Physics and Tyndall. Congratulations to Aisling on this excellent achievement.
