Operation Transformation

OpTrans UCC

UCC Health Matters in partnership with KSG (Kylemore Services Group), The Mardyke Arena and Áras na MacLéinn  is delighted to co-coordinate Operation Transformation UCC 2015.

4 students and 4 staff members will partake in this exciting initiative undertaking a 7 week personalised exercise regime, designed and facilitated through the Mardyke Arena, and following a healthy eating calorie counted menu-choice menu designed and provided by KSG (The Kylemore Services Group). Their progress towards their targeted weight change and Blood Pressure and Blood Test changes will be monitored and they will be supported by a host of individuals and the Student Societies, Clubs and Students' Union.

This year we are alos encouraging groups of between 5 and 20 people to participate in our Groups section. So why not get together with a few friends, agree on a regular exercise regime, and sign up. Your group will be monitored weekly and you might even wish to partake in the Off the Booze and On the Ball campaign, or join the Desk to 5KUCC, or even prepare for the UCC Cancer Society's Relay for Life.

UCC Health Matters

Operation Transformation UCC is the first high profile health-related initiative undertaken on UCC under the umbrella of the UCC Health Matters programme.

UCC Health Matters has been established to help co-ordinate any and all health promoting events and projects on campus, so as to improve their effectiveness and impact, whilst also seeking to ensure that UCC as a place of study and work is health-enabling and health-promoting. It is proposed that under the UCC Health Matters initiative UCC will move towards becoming an accredited Health Promoting University by 2014.
