Dante Lecture Series 2026
The Centre for Dante Studies in Ireland (CDSI), the Department of Italian UCC, and CASiLaC are delighted to announce the programme of our annual five public lectures on Dante. All welcome!
Monday 19 January - Prof. Arielle Saiber (Johns Hopkins University) – ‘Neither Here nor There: Directionality in Dante's Paradiso’
Monday 26 January - Prof. Paolo Rigo (Università Roma Tre) – ‘The (non) Myth: Dante, Florence and Boccaccio’
Tuesday 3 February - Prof. Dennis Looney (University of Pittsburgh/MLA [retired]) – ‘Dante Down South: Rewriting the Divine Comedy in Southern Literature of the United States’
Monday 9 February - Prof. Sam Slote (Trinity College Dublin) - ‘De Defututa Vulgari Eloquentia: On Joyce’s Eloquent Vulgarities’
Monday 16 February - Dr Leyla Livaghi (University of Pisa) – ‘“Per te poeta fui, per te cristiano.” Dante’s Statius and the Authority of Virgil’.
