The Intersections: Culture and Creativity Project supported by the College of ACSSS Creative Practice Support Fund in association with Cork Midsummer Festival presents an immersive performance based on a medieval travel text. The colourful account written in the fourteenth century describes a pilgrimage of two Irish friars from Clonmel to Jerusalem, as they journey across Europe, Egypt and the Sinai desert and encounter different customs, languages, faiths, culture and foods.
The project is jointly coordinated by Dr Małgorzata Krasnodębska-D’Aughton, UCC School of History and Dr Bernadette Cronin, UCC Drama and Theatre Studies and is a collaboration with a group of artists: Kevin Crawford (Arezzo), Mark D’Aughton (Cork), Deirdre Dwyer (Cork), Nicholas Kavanagh (Waterford), Chrissie Poulter (TCD) and Mark Wilkins (Cork).
