School of Chemistry PhD student, Edel Murphy, has been awarded a Young Chemistry Award by Scientific Update.
This Scientific Update award is aimed at those who are considering a career in process chemistry in industry (including pharmaceuticals, fine chemicals, agrochemicals, flavour & fragrance and speciality chemical industries) giving young chemists an opportunity to meet and network with key industrial leaders and discover potential career options. Edel is one of 11 successful international Young Chemist Award recipients and will attend the 6th Winter Process Chemistry Conference in Birmingham, where she will present her work in the area of biocatalysis during a flash presentation and poster session.
Edel carries out her research under the supervision of Prof. Anita Maguire and Dr. Stuart Collins, funded by the Irish Research Council Enterprise Partnership Scheme (with GSK and ThermoFisher).
A great quote from @HELUK 'Congratulations to the winners of the Young Chemist Award. It’s great that @SciUp as well as being an excellent conference and training provider also supports the Chemistry community with initiatives like this.'
