Green Chemistry: A Halloween Special

In a spirited twist on education, the School of Chemistry hosted a unique Halloween-themed workshop called "Green Chemistry: A Halloween Special."
Taking the Halloween inspired example of glowsticks, the workshop illustrated the importance of green and sustainable chemistry through everyday objects, which is essential to bridging the gap between theoretical green principles and real-world impact for improved sustainability in our research labs and industries. The workshop organised by Dr Gillian Collins and supported by Royal Society of Chemistry involved PhDs researchers and final year research project students exploring topics including chemical hazards, safer chemical substitution, green solvents and bio-based reagents.
