Ten-week Mid-day Mandarin Courses
Confucius Institute is offering Ten-week Mid-day Mandarin courses on campus, beginning in January, 2020.
ABSOLUTE BEGINNER
Attendees will be given professional instruction at absolute beginner’s level, with the emphasis on communicative skills and Chinese Culture. By the end of the course, attendees will be able to have a simple conversation with native speakers. Absolute beginners or those with some knowledge of Chinese welcome.
Time: 13:00-14:00 Every Wednesday
Date: 22th January 2020 – 25th March 2020
Venue: ORB-202
Fee: €90 for external applicant; €80 UCC staff/registered student
BEGINNER2
This course aimed at applicants with HSK1or an equivalent level. It provides students with comprehensive skills in Mandarin and a comprehensive understanding of Chinese culture. By the end of the course, attendees will be able to reorganize simple characters and have conversations that relate to common daily settings in Mandarin.
Time: 13:00-14:00 Every Tuesday
Date: 21th January 2020 – 31th March 2020 (17TH March excluded)
Venue: ORB-212
Fee: €100 for external applicant; €90 UCC staff/registered student
INTERMEDIATE COURSE
This course aimed at applicants with HSK2 or an equivalent level. It provides students with comprehensive skills in Mandarin and a deep understanding of Chinese culture. By the end of the course, attendees will be able to acquire several complex grammatical structures and sentence patterns to communicate on familiar topics related to daily settings.
Time: 13:00-14:00 Every Monday
Date: 20th January 2020 – 23th March 2020
Venue: ORB-G30
Fee: €110 for external applicant; €100 UCC staff/registered student

Please note all courses are subject to a minimum number of 5 and the registration fee is non-refundable if you withdraw from the course after the start date.
