'Translated Literature as Armchair Travelling'

Dr Gabriela Saldanha is a Lecturer in Translation Studies in the department of Modern Languages at the University of Birmingham, where she teaches a range of courses on translation theory and research methods. Her current research focuses on the role of translators in the contemporary book market, transcultural reading practices and translational stylistics. In the past, she has also carried out research on gender and language use in the context of translation. She is a Member of the ECPC (European Parliamentary Comparable and Parallel Corpora) research group.
