The winter school will take place from 7–11 January 2026 at Alipurduar University, West Bengal, India. This international winter school cum workshop will delve into current anthropological ecocritical and eco-cosmological discourses focusing on the importance of 1) multi species ethnographies, 2) research on indigenous knowledge systems, 3) eco-cosmologies studies.

The programme is co-organised by Dr. hab. Lidia Guzy (University College Cork) and Prof. Dr Stefano Beggiora (Foscari University of Venice, Italy), and aims to offer a significant educational tool and academic inspiration through intercultural learning from and with India. With examples of ecocritical knowledge, sensibility and imagination from India, a guiding alternative ethical approach towards animals and humans can emerge.
