Minister Roderic O'Gorman Visits UCC
UCC welcomed Minister for Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth, Roderic O'Gorman, to campus on 23 May 2022.
A conference focusing on the right of children to be heard and have their opinions taken seriously, “Child and youth participation for Europe”, is the first event to be held under the Irish Presidency of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe which started on 20 May. The conference, hosted by Minster O’Gorman, was held in hybrid format at UCC’s Aula Max. The conference was organised under the Joint European Union/Council of Europe Project “CP4Europe – Strengthening National Child Participation Frameworks and Action in Europe” launched in April last year.
Minister Gorman later visited Professor John O'Halloran at the President's Office on Monday evening where he signed the Visitor’s Book and was presented with a copy of John A Murphy’s University College Cork: A Portrait in Words and Images.
