Dr. Niall Hyland Appointed Vice President of the British Pharmacological Society

Dr. Niall Hyland, Department of Pharmacology & Therapeutics and APC Microbiome Institute, has been appointed Vice President of the British Pharmacological Society (BPS) with responsibility for meetings (VP – Meetings).

The BPS is a charity with a mission to promote and advance the whole spectrum of pharmacology. It is a global community at the heart of pharmacology, with over 3,500 members from more than 60 countries worldwide. The Society leads the way in the research and application of pharmacology around the world through scientific meetings, educational materials and peer-reviewed journals: the British Journal of Clinical Pharmacology, Pharmacology Research & Perspectives, and the British Journal of Pharmacology. Niall will also join the Society’s Council as a non-Trustee member which has ultimate responsibility for all aspects of the Society’s activities and the BPS Finance Committee.

Niall is also current Co-chair of the Society's Systems & Integrative Pharmacology Affinity, on the Editorial Board of the British Journal of Pharmacology and in 2016 was a member of the Expert Group involved in the development of the Society's Undergraduate Pharmocology core curriculum.
