In a double first this week, not one but two UCC researchers scooped the joint title of Science Foundation Ireland  (SFI) Researcher of the Year at the annual SFI Summit.

UCC has won at the Cork Digital Marketing Awards 2015 thanks to its Twitter presence @UCC.

To mark the bicentenary of the birth of George Boole, UCC President Dr. Michael Murphy was invited to deliver a lecture on Boole’s life and legacy at Lomonosov Moscow State University coinciding with the annual All-Russian Science Festival.

UCC academics Dr Edmond Byrne (School of Engineering) and Dr Gerard Mullally (Department of Sociology) have been awarded the Richard Trevithick Memorial Prize (2015) by the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE). 

Dr Amanullah De Sondy, Senior Lecturer in Contemporary Islam at UCC is to launch his acclaimed book, The Crisis of Islamic Masculinities, at a special launch in Scotland hosted by Edinburgh University on 03 November.

Dr Áine Ryall of UCC's School of Law has taken up duty as a member of the Aarhus Convention Compliance Committee, an international treaty that links environmental rights and human rights.
