2015 Press Releases

Cork Local Government

8 Sep 2015

UCC looks forward to considering the report of the Cork Local Government Committee to see how the recommendations impact on the University and higher education in Cork generally.

The University believes that any decisions on this important development should be based on the production of quality evidence.

UCC recognises the importance of partnership in the region and the vital role of the Cork Area Strategic Plan as a model of collaboration across the city, the county, higher education institutions, the business community and others.

The University is one of the leading research universities in Ireland with internationally recognised programmes across the full range of humanities, business, science, engineering and medicine.  The University’s campus is located in the heart of the city but has significant facilities in the county such as the Beaufort Laboratory in Ringaskiddy, sports facilities in Curaheen and  research facilities at Lough Hyne, Skibbereen at Europe’s first Marine Nature Reserve.
