UCC organised ‘Cork Discovers’ funded by the European Commission under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions
On 28 September 2018, UCC organised ‘Cork Discovers’ funded by the European Commission under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions. It was a night of discovery where UCC researchers demonstrated what they do for society and how they might change your life!
My Big Friendly Guide to the European Union was one of the featured events. We organized a night of games for children ranging from 5 to 15 years old as well as videos showing how children engage with issues relating to Ireland and the European Union.
Children played our EU chase with Seamie Shamrock, Guess the Question? and Pin the flag. However, the most successful activity was certainly the EU smoothie competition where they learnt that the European Union is like a smoothie. The drawing corner about what the EU can do for Ireland was also a great attraction.
We are looking forward to Cork Discovers 2019!!!
