On the 14th & 15th November UCC Dental School and Hospital hosted the annual scientific meeting of the Divsional meeting of the IADR (International Association for Dental Research).

This was a special event for UUC Dental School and Hospital in the year it celebrates the centenary. The theme adopted for this year’s meeting was ‘Advancing Dental Research in Ireland’, The meeting permitted delegates from the three dental schools in Ireland and further afield to present their research and discuss opportunities for research and collaboration.

This year the meeting invited two keynote speakers in Professor Mark Ferguson and Professor Helen Whelton. Professor Mark Ferguson CEO of Science Foundation Ireland (SFI)  and Chief Scientific Adviser to the Government of Ireland delivered a very full and engaging talk on the objectives of, and research funding available through SFI including opportunities to collaborate with Northern Ireland, the United States of America and further afield.
