Cancer Biology Research at UCC
UCC has a large, interdisciplinary research cluster in cancer biology that includes investigators from the College of Science, Engineering and Food Science and the College of Medicine and Health.
Research programmes in cancer biology at UCC include:
- Understanding fundamental cell biology, key cell signalling processes, and gene regulation associated with the genesis and progression of cancer
- Identification and evaluation of molecular targets and biomarkers in selected signalling pathways
- Development of vectors and compounds for drug and gene delivery as novel therapeutics
