Post-Doctoral Researcher
18 Month, Fixed-Term, Whole-time Post
Position summary
A postdoctoral position is available to investigate how cellular homeostasis is controlled by the intersection of the Insulin-like Growth Factor signalling pathway with mitochondrial function and dysfunction, in cancer and normal cells. The project is part of a Science Found Ireland-funded research programme (see
Cox et al., Frontiers Oncol. 2022,
Rieger et al, Science Signal. 2020, Cox et al., Cancer Res. 2019, Stanicka et al., Oncogene 2018, and Lyons et al., J. Biol. Chem. 2017).
We are seeking highly motivated candidates with a PhD and demonstrated research achievement, who will be supported to pursue their research interests and careers in either academia or other Industry. The successful candidate will join a dynamic team of international researchers in Cork, and also interact with collaborators in the USA, Europe and Japan. The research will involve a wide range of biochemical, genetic and molecular cell biology approaches, including CRISPR-based cell and mouse models, protein structure-function analyses, and cell function and imaging technologies.
The School of Biochemistry and Cell Biology provides a supportive research and career development environment and University College Cork also offers a suite of career development initiatives through the postdoc hub and the human resources department.
