Pat Casey appointed Council Member of the European Biosafety Association
Pat Casey has been elected Council Member of the European Biosafety Association.
Pat Casey, Biosafety Advisor with UCC’s Office of the Vice President for Research and Innovation, has been elected as one of the six Council Members of the European Biosafety Association (EBSA) following a competitive vote and will take up the role at the EBSA AGM in Bucharest in April 2019 for a term of two years.
The EBSA establishes and communicates best biosafety and biosecurity practices and provides a forum for its members to discuss issues of concern, as well as influencing and supporting emerging legislation and standards with the objective of ensuring the prevention of harm to man or the environment from biological substances or materials. The EBSA represents over 35 countries in Europe and other regions with hundreds of members from diverse disciplines.
