Taoiseach and Minister Lawless Announce Major Expansion of Tyndall National Institute

During a visit to Tyndall National Institute based at University College Cork (UCC) to mark the commencement of Ireland's Presidency of the Council of the European Union, the Taoiseach Micheál Martin and the Minister for Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science, James Lawless TD, today announced a major expansion of the institute, marking a significant milestone for Ireland's research, innovation and semiconductor ambitions.

Professor Claire Connolly wins Robert Rhodes Prize

Professor Claire Connolly, Professor of Modern English at University College Cork, has been awarded the Robert Rhodes Prize for Books on Irish Literature by the American Conference for Irish Studies (ACIS) for her acclaimed monograph Irish Romanticism: A Literary History.

100 years of agriculture education was marked by Taoiseach Micheál Martin at Government Buildings during a special commemorative event with University College Cork and University College Dublin. The event was to mark the centenary of legislation that established the Faculty of Dairy Science at UCC and the Faculty of Agriculture at UCD. Senior representatives from government, higher education, research, industry and the wider agri-food sector gathered to celebrate the contribution of both institutions to the development of Irish agriculture. Taoiseach Marks Centenary of Landmark Legislation that Helped Transform Irish Agriculture and Food Systems

Taoiseach Micheál Martin TD this week hosted a special commemorative event in Government Buildings to mark the centenary of the University Education (Agriculture and Dairy Science) Act 1926, legislation that established the Faculty of Dairy Science at University College Cork and the Faculty of Agriculture at University College Dublin.
