CACSSS Seminar Room, G27, Wednesday 22 June, 2.00–5.30
This seminar will be streamed live on MS Teams via the following link: ISO: Online Seminar
Thanks to funding received from the National Forum for Teaching and Learning, a blended seminar will be held on Wednesday 22 June on the work of the Irish Sagas Online project (https://iso.ucc.ie/) [ISO] which is hosted in University College Cork. The brainchild of Dr Tom O’Donovan, a retired lecturer in the Department of Statistics, and supported by Beatrix Färber (CELT project, UCC: https://celt.ucc.ie/) and Dr Kevin Murray (Celtic Digital Initiative, UCC: https://www.ucc.ie/en/smg/cdi/), the aim of the project is to make available reliable versions of the original texts of medieval Irish sagas with parallel translations into Modern Irish and English. Taking the project's ongoing work on Tochmarc Emire ‘The Wooing of Emer’ as a case-study, the problems associated with making texts available on ISO will be interrogated and discussed. All are welcome to attend.
This seminar will also be streamed live on MS Teams via the following link: ISO: Online Seminar
Alternatively, the link can be sent by email on request; please contact the Department of Early and Medieval Irish at emi@ucc.ie.
