Cycle of the Kings: Seminar
The Department of Early and Medieval Irish, University College Cork is delighted to announce a one-day seminar on the Cycles of the Kings which will take place live in the CACSSS Seminar Room, O'Rahilly Building, UCC on Friday 8 April beginning at 10.00a.m.
This seminar will be streamed live on MS Teams via the following link: Cycles of the Kings Seminar
Topics to be covered will include: historical function and literary artistry in the king tales; Níall Noígíallach and the ‘heroic biography’; Lóegaire mac Néill’s conversion and death; the battle of Carn Conaill; and Bórama Laigen.
There will be no cost to attend the seminar. We would ask, however, that those intending to be physically present would email us this information in advance (to k.murray@ucc.ie).
