Sam Grace makes Ireland U-21 EuroHockey Championships Team
Jonny Caren has announced his U21 men’s squad for the Eurohockey Junior Championships in Valencia and it includes Quercus Sports’ Scholar, Sam Grace. Sam is studying Sports' Studies and Physical Education in the College of CACSSS
The Championships take place from August 28th to September 3rd and Ireland sit in Pool B with Austria, Belgium and Germany. The latter two finished second and third respectively in last year’s Junior World Cup in India.
Speaking about the squad, head coach Caren said “We have been together as a large panel over the past 9 months and this group have worked tirelessly on their preparation...Our main focus for this tournament is to ensure our top flight status to enable Junior World Cup qualification chance next time around”.
Ireland's pool fixtures are as follows:
Ireland vs Germany, August 28th at 09:00am
Ireland vs Austria, August 30st at 09:00am
Ireland vs Belgium, August 31st at 11:15am
