2nd Generation Cystic Fibrosis Gene Repair

Dr Patrick Harrison has been awarded a research grant from CF trust UK for a one year study entitled 2nd generation Cystic fibrosis gene repair starting 1st October.

Together with his colleague Dr Martina Scanlon and three PhD students,their group was the first to correct the most common CF-causing mutation in the human cell line (Lee et al,2012)

Dr Jennifer Hollywood is also using a ground breaking technigue to advance their work known as CRISPR/Cas9 g RNA gene editing.
