Professor Josephine Hegarty is leaving the role of University College Cork’s Head of School of Nursing and Midwifery

A huge thank you to all the students and staff of the School of Nursing and Midwifery
Professor Josephine Hegarty is leaving the role of University College Cork’s Head of School of Nursing and Midwifery after serving a total of seven years as Head of School. Professor Hegarty said that “She is pleased to hand over to Professor Patricia Leahy-Warren” who has been appointed to the role commencing April 2023. She noted that “Professor Leahy-Warren will do an excellent job in in the role; we are very lucky to have a leader of Patricia’s calibre leading the School to the future”. She also wanted to take the opportunity to say “a huge thank you to all the students and staff of the School of Nursing and Midwifery, clinical partners and collaborators locally and nationally” for all their “support over the last few years” noting that they “are all truly an amazing team”.
Professor Hegarty is returning to her substantive role of Professor of Nursing in UCC’s School of Nursing and Midwifery.
