Max/Bf Project
Max/Bf is a research project led by the School of Nursing and Midwifery at University College Cork and funded by the Health Research Board. The project aims to normalise and promote breastfeeding by developing resources and tools that empower everyone to support breastfeeding, making it easier for families and communities to thrive. We are working with multiple partners to achieve this aim, including the Health Service Executive, La Leche League Ireland and the Association of Lactation Consultants of Ireland.
The project will research how society or healthcare systems can support mothers, considering education for healthcare professionals, public health communication campaigns, policy support for breastfeeding and local support in communities. By contributing to improved health and well-being, breastfeeding has the potential to shape a brighter, healthier future.
