UCC’s School of Nursing and Midwifery Team celebrates as it has been ranked as the Top School in the Country

according to the 2020 Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) (Shanghai Ranking Consultancy) for Nursing
UCC’s School of Nursing and Midwifery Team celebrates as it has been ranked as the Top School in the Country and 51st-75th in the world by academic subject ranking for Nursing as a subject area according to the 2020 Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) released by Shanghai Ranking Consultancy. The rankings are based upon publication numbers in a five year period, Category Normalized Citation Impact, International Collaborations, number of papers published in Top Journals in an Academic Subject and number of international awards. http://www.shanghairanking.com/Shanghairanking-Subject-Rankings/nursing.html
The Head of School of Nursing and Midwifery, Professor Hegarty thanked the team “for excelling in terms of writing grants, doing research, supervising MSc and Doctorate research, publishing papers and influencing national and international policy”. She noted that “the rankings are based upon a transparent methodology and objective third-party data and as such are an objective metric of the quality of research being conducted within the School of Nursing and Midwifery, UCC”.
The School of Nursing and Midwifery is on an upward trajectory as it has moved from a ranking of 101-150th (2018) to 76-100th (2019) and up to 51st -75th in the world in 2020.
