School of Law, UCC hosts 19th European China Law Studies Association Annual Conference

The School of Law was delighted to host the 19th European China Law Studies Association Annual Conference at University College Cork last weekend.
Around 100 speakers from many leading institutions across the world including mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau, from across Europe, the United States and Australia presented their research over three days in 25 stimulating panel sessions with three excellent keynote speeches.
The European China Law Studies Association is dedicated to advancing comparative and interdisciplinary research in Chinese law. Its Annual Conference is recognized as a premier forum for scholars, legal practitioners, and policymakers from around the globe to meet and debate the latest developments in Chinese law. The Annual Conference also serves as a platform for initiating research collaborations and we hope that some collaborations will be born out of the fruitful exchanges over the last few days. Importantly the Conference is an inclusive and welcoming space for early career researchers to present their research.
We would like to thank the ECLS Association, Prof Björn Ahl, our sponsors A&L Goodbody LLP, Fáilte Ireland and UCC School of Law for their support.
We would also like to thank all participants for chairing, speaking and participating, UCC colleagues who supported the conference and our Law student helpers.
