School of Law and UCC Law Society hold Dean's Reception for Alumni and Friends in Cork

UCC School of Law and UCC Law Society were delighted to hold an Alumni and Friends event at the Aula Maxima in UCC on the 23rd February, 2023. 

At the well attended event, the Dean, Prof Mark Poustie provided an update on developments in the School and reflected on the achievements of the school over the past years.  Melissa Ferris, auditor of the Law Society spoke about the society's accomplishments and spoke about the society's close relationship with the School and its staff. 

Professor Mark Poustie reflected: 

“I was delighted to welcome Cork Alumni and Friends to the Aula Maxima for an in-person reception jointly hosted with the Law Society.  This had originally been planned as a welcome event soon after I joined UCC but the pandemic then intervened.  It was great to host the event and outline our achievements and plans for the future.  It was also great to hear the student perspective from Melissa Ferris, Auditor of the Law Society in its 93^rd session.   Building links with our local alumni and friends is hugely important and we are both very proud of their achievements and also very grateful for the various contributions they make.  The evening was a really enjoyable one and we will definitely seek to repeat the event in future”.
