Save the Date - Prof Mary McAleese, former President of Ireland 'Children’s Rights and Religion'
The Centre for Children’s Rights and Family Law, School of Law, will host its Annual Lecture on Thursday 27 November – this year Professor Mary McAleese will present: “Children’s Rights and Religion’’ with responses from Centre members, followed by open Q & A.
Professor Mary McAleese served as President of Ireland from 1997 to 2011, having previously worked as Reid Professor of Criminal Law, Criminology and Penology at Trinity College Dublin. Following the completion of her second term as President, Professor McAleese completed a Licentiate and Doctorate in Canon Law from the Pontifical Gregorian University Rome. In 2018 she was appointed Professor of Children, Law & Religion at University of Glasgow. Her book Children's Rights and Obligations in Canon Law was published by Brill in 2019.
The event will run from 6.00-7.45 pm, Thursday 27 November, in Devere Hall, Áras na Mac Léinn, UCC
