Report Launch: ''Ascertaining the Views of Children in Guardianship, Custody and Access Proceedings in Ireland''
On Friday February 7 from 1-2 pm, the Child Law Clinic at UCC will launch a report entitled: "Ascertaining the Views of Children in Guardianship, Custody and Access Proceedings in Ireland"
The report builds on an earlier phase of a research project that examined law, policy and literature on child participation in private family law proceedings in six jurisdictions by producing detailed empirical evidence on the effectiveness of the existing arrangements for ascertaining the views of children in such proceedings in Ireland. It draws on the results of a national survey of practitioners and courtroom observation of proceedings in a representative sample of District Court venues.
The report launch will take the form a webinar at which the key findings of the report will be presented by Professor Conor O’Mahony, following which there will be a response by civil society partners in the Children’s Rights Alliance and One Family, and time for Q&A.
