Law graduate, Michael Jackson, Managing Partner of Matheson LLP, honored by UCC

Congratulations to UCC Law alumnus, Michael Jackson, Managing Partner of Matheson LLP was awarded an Alumni Achievement Award alongside 10 other trailblazing alumni in November 2023 in the Aula Maxima UCC

Olympic medal-winners, an Oscar-nominated filmmaker, a world-renowned botanist, activists, philanthropists and volunteers were among those who were honoured at the landmark 25^th annual Alumni Achievement Awards.

Eleven inspirational alumni were presented with an Alumni Achievement Award, one of the highest accolades given by the university. They were:

• Diana Beresford-Kroeger, botanist and author;
• Campaigner Mary Crilly of the Sexual Violence Centre Cork;
• West Cork community lynchpins, John & Catherine Field of J.J. Field & Co.;
• Leading lawyer Michael Jackson, Managing Partner of Matheson LLP
• Doug Murray, Oscar nominated and Emmy award winning sound engineer;
• Olympic Gold medallist rowers Paul O’Donovan & Fintan McCarthy;
• Activist and author Katherine O’Donnell;
• Businessman, philanthropist and Cork University Foundation Chair Neil O’Leary;
• Amel Sami, researcher and educator.

A leading light in legal matters

Leading lawyer Michael Jackson is Managing Partner at Matheson LLP. His tenure at the firm has seen Matheson expand and grow to become the highly awarded company that it is today. Under his leadership, Matheson recently partnered with the university to launch the UCC and Matheson Innovation Partnership, creating scholarships and lecturing opportunities in law, technology and innovation.
