Visiting Research/Internship students
Undergraduate and Postgraduate/PhD students from universities outside of Ireland undertaking a research/internship with a UCC department as part of their studies.
Post doc and visiting staff/scholars are required to contact People & Culture | University College Cork
Step 1:

Contact a UCC department of interest to discuss their availability to host you: Schools & Departments | University College Cork

Students can only register at UCC for a research/internship period for a maximum of 12 months.

Students requesting internships (electives) in local hospitals should contact medicalelectives@ucc.ie
Step 2:

After securing a supervisor, contact the International Office to register by emailing jim.mcevoy@ucc.ie

Students are required to contact us at least 1 month before starting at UCC
The International Office will provide you with a link to a registration form and you will be required to upload the following:

What happens next?
- Your application and documentation are reviewed and recorded on the UCC system.
- You will receive an email with information on your UCC student ID card and UCC email account.
Deadline to apply:
- One month before arrival at UCC. You will receive your registration information approximately two weeks prior to your arrival.
How long can I stay?
- Visiting Students can study at UCC for a short period, ranging from 2 weeks to 12 months. When a visiting student makes multiple visits to UCC, the total duration must not exceed 12 months.
Who can sign my forms (e.g., Erasmus grant forms)?
- Your UCC supervisor/department
- The International Office is unable to confirm research information or sign your forms.
I have a non-European passport and will be required to register with immigration.
