Jean Monnet Lecture Series April 2018

The Department of Government and Politics Jean Monnet Lecture Series was delivered by Author Brexit and Ireland: The Dangers, the Opportunities and the Inside Story of the Irish Response (Penguin 2017), Mr Tony Connelly, RTÉ Europe Editor. He discussed Brexit: Negotiating the Negotiations on Thursday the 12th of April at 4pm in ORB_G.27.

Tony Connelly is RTÉ Europe Editor and is based in Brussels. He has reported for the Evening Herald, Irish Independent, Time Magazine and United Press International, and reported on conflicts in Rwanda, Angola, Kosovo, Afghanistan, Iraq, Lebanon, Georgia and Gaza. In 2001, Tony was appointed Europe Correspondent for RTÉ News and in 2011 became Europe Editor. He is the author of Don't Mention the Wars: A Journey Through European Stereotypes (New Island Books, 2009) and the recently published Brexit and Ireland: The Dangers, the Opportunities and the Inside Story of the Irish Response (Penguin, 2017) which has been widely praised as astute, timely and essential to understanding the challenges Ireland faces because of Brexit.

This lecture series is supported by the Erasmus+ Jean Monnet programme.
