Marnina Winkler

Marnina  Winkler is a PhD student in the Department of German.  She has a Bachelors in Music with a minor in History from Utah Valley University and received a Masters in Ethnomusicology from University College Cork.  

Recently,  Marnina was the Local Jewish Historian and Co-presenter for the “Cork Jewish Culture Virtual Walk” which was sponsored by the Cork City Council.

Marnina’s research focuses on the archive collection of the former Lord Mayor of Cork, Gerald Goldberg (1912-2003), centring on the concept of life writing -- understanding autobiographies, fictionalization of experiences, and cultural memory – specifically relating to the Cork Jewish Community.
