Welcome Back
Geography is one of the most dynamic disciplines to study at UCC. We extend a warm welcome to all our returning students, but especially our incoming First Years for 2022.
Our world is increasing connected across the span the globe. Our physical environment faces growing challenges and stresses, not least from Climate Change. To address these problems, Geography offers you the chance to cultivate new skills to analyse environmental issues, communicate their impacts and offer sensitive solutions to manage the complex transitions ahead of us. These concerns - which are seen also in the UN Sustainable Development Goals - are central to our Geography programme.
During your time with the Department, you will experience learning in workshops, projects, international field classes and laboratories and have multiple opportunities to conduct your own research as part of your degree.
