CRAC sends two undergraduate students to Japan

Paddy Feeney and Shane Daly arrive in Japan

Under the SFI-ISCA Japan Internship programme, Prof. John Sodeau of CRAC has arranged for two UCC Chemistry undergraduate students to work at the Department of Applied Chemistry, Prefecture University, Osaka, Japan over the coming weeks. Under the supervision of Norimichi Takenaka, Paddy Feeney and Shane Daly will work on the following two research projects:

  • Using sonochemistry to generate OH radicals for initiating the degradation of organic materials with environmental relevance.
  • Investigating the reduction of nitrate ions in snow and ice.
