Postgraduate scholarships open for 2025 taught Masters students at UCC

- Scholarship Opportunity: Fee waiver covering EU fees for selected taught Masters programmes at UCC School of Languages, Literatures and Cultures
- Open to EU and non-EU students starting their Masters in autumn 2025.
- Eligible postgraduate programmes: Asian Studies, Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages, Migration, Mobility and Culture, Translation Studies, and Applied Linguistics.
The School of Languages, Literatures and Cultures (SLLC) at University College Cork is offering an Excellence Scholarship for a student commencing a taught Masters programme in autumn 2025.
The scholarship offers a fee waiver covering EU fees for one of the following programmes:
- MA in Asian Studies
- MA in Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages (MATCSOL)
- MA in Migration, Mobility and Culture
- MA in Translation Studies
- MA in Applied Linguistics
Dr Kate Hodgson, Lecturer in French and Director of Graduate Studies in the SLLC, said: "We are delighted to offer the SLLC Excellence Scholarship again this year. Our taught Masters programmes offer students the opportunity to deepen their knowledge, develop new skills, and prepare for diverse and exciting career paths. This scholarship is designed to support talented students in achieving their academic and professional goals within an inclusive and vibrant learning environment at UCC."
“Graduates with expertise in languages and cultures are increasingly in demand across a wide range of sectors, from education and international relations to business, technology, cultural and creative industries. In today’s globalised world, the ability to communicate across cultures and to understand different perspectives is a major professional advantage,” Dr Hodgson said.
The scholarship is open to both EU and non-EU applicants; however, funding will cover EU fee rates only. Non-EU students will be responsible for the balance.
