Professor Femi Amao delivers inaugural lecture
Femi Amao, Professor of Company Law and Sustainability in the School of Law, delivered his inaugural lecture in the College on 24 January.
The lecture, entitled "Decolonising the 'corporation' narrative in Africa in the age of Sustainability" was delivered in the Council Room of the North Wing before a full audience of colleagues, students, and invited guests.
After a welcome by Head of College Professor Thia Hennessy, Professor Amao was introduced by the Dean of the School of Law Professor Mark Poustie.
Professor Amao's research broadly focuses on the examination of the role of law in regulation of social phenomena or emerging social change. He explores these issues principally in the areas of Company Law and sustainability. In that context he is currently focusing on Corporations and Sustainability in the global south, and also business and human rights.
Professor Amao joined the School of Law in 2023.
