The LLM (Practitioner) is an innovative masters programme developed collaboratively between the Faculty of Law, University College Cork and the Law Society of Ireland.  The programme aims to facilitate practicing legal professionals to gain an internationally recognised masters degree in a flexible manner, individually tailored to their needs and interests. The programme combines UCC’s highly-regarded legal academic experience with the practice-oriented expertise of the Law Society of Ireland.

The inaugural Law Faculty Boot Camp provided an opportunity for Leaving Certificate students interested in the study of Law at UCC, to attend lectures and experience life as a student for a day.

The Minister for Education and Science has appointed Professor Caroline Fennell as Chairperson of the Irish Research Council for the Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences (IRCHSS). Professor Fennell succeeds Professor Maurice Bric of UCD. The Council is responsible for allocating €14.4m in postgraduate research grants each year in the arts, humanities and social sciences.
