IRES visiting American Students at Lough Hyne and BEES

24 Sep 2013

Our seven visiting American students and the International Research Experience for Students (IRES) programme principal coordinator Dr Cynthia Trowbridge finished their six week visit to the UCC labs at Lough Hyne last week.

During their stay they have been involved in sampling methodology workshops, long term monitoring studies and undertaking their own individual research projects.

The culmination of these research projects was last Wednesday when the IRES group visited the School of BEES to deliver seminars on their work to staff and students.

I hope they will agree it has been a busy but rewarding experience during their time at the labs at Lough Hyne and it has been a great pleasure to have them as our guests at Lough Hyne and hope they will come back to Cork and BEES once again in the future.  I would also like to express my most sincere thanks to Luke Harman, Mark Jessopp and all my School of BEES colleagues for their support for this student exchange programme.
