Caoimhe Byrne
Biography
Caoimhe joined APC Microbiome Ireland in May 2022 as the Centre’s Education and Public Engagement Manager. Caoimhe will lead the public engagement programme at APC with the aim of promoting microbiome research locally, nationally, and internationally. Caoimhe has a BSc in Genetics and holds a MSc in Science Communication and Public Engagement from the University of Edinburgh. She has been involved in science outreach in Australia, Scotland, and Ireland since 2013. Having worked predominantly in the tertiary education and research sector, Caoimhe has led several public engagement programmes and communication campaigns to promote science and research to school students, patients, and the wider community.
