Presentation of Accreditation Certificates and EURACE label Certificates to the School of Engineering
Yesterday the School of Engineering was formally presented with Engineers Ireland and European Certificates following on our successful programme accreditation visit from Engineers Ireland last year. The presentations were made by Engineers Ireland President, Mr Peter Quinn at a reception held in UCC's Aula Maxima.
The event was led with a welcome by Head of School, Professor Liam Marnane to all invited guests and a huge congratulations and thank you to everyone involved in the hard work leading up to the accreditation success for the following 4-year Bachelors Programmes:
- Electrical and Electronic Engineering
- Energy
- Process and Chemical Engineering
- Civil, Structural and Environmental Engineering
The reception was a celebration of the approval of our 5-Year ME programme in all four disciplines by the University, allowing all third year students across the School access to an integrated masters programme that targets meeting the full educational requirements for ‘Chartered Engineer’ status.
The VP for Teaching and Learning, Professor Paul McSweeney addressed the guests and also congratulated the School on the successful 'Common' First year recently introduced and on the phonomenal work involved in gaining ME approval in all disciplines.
