Transition Year Programme in the Arts and Humanities
Transition Year Students: Are you interested in studying Celtic Civilisation?
UCC College of Arts, Celtic Studies and Social Studies (CACSSS) is delighted to announce the launch of Corvinus, a new Transition Year Programme for second level TY students interested in literary, creative, and historical humanities.
Our week-long programme includes a range of workshops and taster lectures/seminars on.
- Celtic Civilisation
- Greek and Roman Civilisation
- History of Art
Corvinus students will have the opportunity to experience what it is like to be an undergraduate student, to attend lectures with other undergraduate students and to experience focused study in special tutorial groups. The programme includes workshops in Creative Writing, Theatre and Performance and Visual Literacy.
This structured programme introduces TY students to a broader third-level student experience and will include a tour of the campus, an introduction to the library and a career talk.
At the end of the course, the students will receive a Certificate of Completion.
Programme dates: 24-28 February, 2020
Entry is by application and limited to fifteen places only.
Students will be admitted to the programme on the basis of their motivational statements and the subjects they are studying for Leaving Cert.
Applications must be submitted on the application form, available at https://www.ucc.ie/en/classics/corvinus/, typed and sent by email.
For more information, please contact the programme co-ordinator, Dr Catherine Ware (Catherine.Ware@ucc.ie).
