Book Launch by the Irish Texts Society
On Friday 6th November, the Irish Texts Society held a virtual launch of its latest publications. Prof. Michael Clarke from the Department of Classics in NUI Galway launched the most recent volume in the Society's Main Series, Don Tres Troí (The Middle Irish History of the Third Troy) authored by Prof. Brent Miles of the Centre for Medieval Studies in the University of Toronto. Brent is a former staff member of the Department of Early and Medieval Irish in UCC. The second volume launched on the night comprised the proceedings of last year's annual ITS/UCC Seminar on Táin Bó Cúailnge from the Book of Leinster edited by Prof. John Carey, Head of the Department of Early and Medieval Irish at University College Cork. The launch of the volume incorporated a wonderful question and answer session between Prof. Carey and Prof. Ann Dooley of the University of Toronto.
