Mary Ryan Language Scholarships

Niamh Clifford, Grace Hickey, Ciara Kirk, Dr Paul Hegarty (Head of the Department of French), Dr Mark Chu (Head of the Department of Italian and Programme Co-ordinator of the new BA World Languages), Dr Helena Buffery (Head of the Department of Spanish, Portuguese and Latin American Studies and Chair of the Board of the MA in Translation Studies), Dr Martin Howard (Department of French and Programme Co-ordinator of the BA International), and Prof. Caroline Fennell (Head of the College of ACSSS)

UCC’s College of Arts, Celtic Studies and Social Sciences held its annual Undergraduate Scholarship award ceremony on Thursday, 27 February, in the University’s Glucksman Gallery, with awards across all degree programmes.

These awards included the Mary Ryan Language Scholarships for students on 500+ points who are studying two or more language subjects. The recipients of the Mary Ryan Language Scholarships this year were Niamh Clifford (BA International - French/Gaeilge/ Beginners’ Italian), Grace Hickey (BA International - French/Gaeilge/Spanish), Ciara Kirk (BA International - Chinese Studies/Beginners’ Spanish), Amy Jane Melay (BA - French/Gaeilge/Beginners’ Italian), Megan Smith (BA - French/German/Beginners’ Spanish/Beginners’ Italian).
