Brookfield Clinic
Welcome to Brookfield HSE Clinic, which is housed within the School of Clinical Therapies. We provide therapeutic intervention in Speech & Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Audiology.
The clinic has a joint aim: to provide effective therapy by HSE Therapists for children, adults and families who attend the services, and to provide education for the students being educated in the three disciplines through additional student clinics.
HSE Occupational Therapy Clinic
The HSE Occupational Therapy Clinic is a base for the HSE North Lee catchment area Early Intervention Community Occupational Therapy (OT) service for children under the age of 6.
Occupational Therapy students learn a broad range of knowledge and skills during their 4-year programme and the clinic provides a range of experiences for students, in particular to make the learning real. As a task-based learning programme, learning on the job, doing tasks related to practising occupational therapy ensures students’ learning is as effective as possible. Students attend the clinic in an observational and reflective capacity.

HSE Speech & Language Therapy Clinic
The HSE Speech & Language Therapy Clinic provides Speech and Language Therapy (SLT) to children living in the catchment area of UCC and children of students and staff of UCC (who are not receiving a service elsewhere).
To become a qualified SLT, the students must learn a great deal of specialised knowledge during an intense four-year degree programme. The students must also learn therapeutic skills, so that they can help their clients effectively.
At our clinic, student clinics are organised during the two semesters, where therapy is provided by Speech and Language Therapists-in-training under the supervision of Senior Speech and Language Therapists and staff from the Department of Speech and Hearing.

HSE Audiology Clinic
Adult and paediatric hearing clinics are held within Brookfield HSE Clinic. Testing and fitting services are provided by Audiologists-in-training under the supervision of qualified Audiologists. Adult clinics run on Mondays & Tuesdays, paediatric clinics run on Wednesdays & Thursdays.
Referral to the clinic is through the HSE Audiology Service.
